Hi my name is Ronnell. And for the people who know me, they know that I love the Philippines very much and I am not really one who rants and complains to high heavens about what is happening to our country and does nothing about it. Yet, after seeing how events in our nation had transpired the past years and after talking to some friends, I feel the urge to share with you my own thoughts and feelings here. |
Cebu's finest - Alberto's Pizza or Alberto Biano Homemade Pizza?
First of all, I am not affiliated with any of these establishments and I am not getting any sales commissions here but after trying Alberto's inexpensive pizza, I think it's time to make a savour taste review.
I originally tasted the 11" Chicken Garlic Quickmelt Cheese Pizza from Alberto's Main branch in B.Rodriguez St. which is in front of Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center, Cebu. Definitely a very delicious pizza - 4 out of 5 in terms of taste and 5 out of 5 when it comes to pricing. It's funny to think that it took us 30 mins. just to find their restaurant. The place was so ordinary that it creates an impression like a cheap carenderia.
I don't know if I am the only one who observed about this but it seems to me that Albertos Pizza delivery service is a lot more faster than eating inside their restaurant itself. Notice that if you call for a delivery it will only take 30 mins whereas if you dine inside, you'll have to wait around 40 minutes for a single order. sigh*
A few weeks ago, we happen to see a full-size streamer for the opening of Alberto's new branch in lapu-lapu city. So, we drop by and order our favorite Chicken Garlic and Hawaiian Pizza. Everything was exactly the same from the menu, flavor, taste and price until we notice that the this branch has a different type of Box. Instead of the familiar white box from Alberto's, this one has a brown better-looking quality package with Alberto Biano Homemade Pizza logo on it. Obviously, that wasn't one of the Alberto's branch.
At first, I thought that it's just some copy-cat business branch trying to get the juice of the booming Alberto's name. But I was puzzled how they were able to get the same taste and flavor of the pizza? Out of curiousity, I inquired to some of my collegues if they also happen to hear about Alberto Biano and so I learned from gossip to gossip that they were indeed business partners before that ended up a sour relationship. These were the rumors.
So, who's the original - Alberto's Pizza or Alberto Biano Homemade Pizza? I don't know, I just love the pizza.

Alberto Biano Homemade Pizza changed their name to Biano's Homemade Pizza.

August 13, 2009The Original baker of Alberto's Pizza was Alberto Biaño himself. it so happen that business partners went sour that he pulled out his share with the (verbal)condition that they will not use the name Alberto's Pizza ever again. but without his consent, his ex-business partners tried to register the name Alberto's Pizza with the DTI ahead of him.
To his dismay, he opened a new store bearing the name Alberto Biaño Homemade Pizza (with his surname Biaño on it). Just try and taste the difference which is the better pizza, anyway they are both my friends, either of them will prosper, i can still drink a bottle or two from their success. cheers... friends forever!!! free enterprise... friendship prevails!!!

..and by the way if you like inexpensive pizza and real Italian pizza for 99p check out in Raintree Mall ,Pizzeria bella italia there have the best pizza what i ever eat for 99p and dont be afraid that this place is vol whit tourist..because it is just good

October 18, 2009For those who would like to get a franchise for Albertos Pizza, I think it would be better if you talk to the owner directly. It's a family owned business and the owner usually supervises the B.Rodriguez branch.
By the way, I did try asking their Alberto's staff about the owners family name but it seems that they were given instructions not to give any names. errrr...

November 17, 2009I used to be ordering pizza from Alberto's not till I got to try out Biaño's Homemade Pizza over at USC Main branch, its along Junquera St. near PCGS and Chinese ngohiong.
The ambiance is much better compared to other Alberto's branches and even among Biaño's other branches.
I'd bet all you Alberto's loyalists wouldn't have a hard time shifting to the original pizza by Biaño's. Alberto's may have copied somewhat how to top their pizza but definitely Biaño's pizza tastes much yummier.
Pizza on me if you get to try Biaño's pizza and still think that Alberto's tastes much better..:)
